After a lifetime of following Jesus, the apostle Peter reflected on how God takes care of His people. He declared that Christ has given us everything we need. Then he said the abundant life is experienced by living in God’s promises. But what does it mean to live in God’s promises?

To live in God’s promises is to live as if what God says in His Word is true. Jesus described living in God’s promises as seeking first the kingdom. Paul explained it as approaching life with the assurance that all things work for good for those who love the Lord.

Unfortunately, few of us know how to do that. We want to escape feelings like fear and worry and anger and lust and greed, but they keep popping up in our life like whack-a-moles.

I’ve been an apprentice of Jesus for more than 40 years, and my failures are legion. One of the things I learned the hard way is that maturity in Christ doesn’t happen automagically. It requires training and the support of fellow apprentices.

That’s where HenryHHarris.com comes in. There’s not much on the site to look at yet, but the plan is to develop a broad range of materials that will support twenty-first-century apprentices of Jesus.  The goal is to create and share at least one new resource about life in Christ every week. Some weeks it will be a written article and a podcast; other weeks it will be a video lesson.
