After a lifetime of following Jesus, the apostle Peter reflected on how God takes care of His people and said, “His divine power has given us everything we need for life and godliness.” Then he said that the abundant life is experienced by living in God’s promises.

But what does it mean to live in God’s promises?

To live in God’s promises is to live as if what God says in His Word is true. Jesus described living in God’s promises as seeking first the kingdom. Paul explained it as approaching life with the assurance that all things work for good for those who love the Lord.

Unfortunately, few of us know how to do that. We want to escape feelings like fear and worry and anger and lust and greed, but they keep popping up in our life like whack-a-moles.
