The word “salvation” is heard a lot in Christian circles, but how many of us understand what the word really means? Polls show that 74% of Americans who self identify as Christians believe that salvation is about God forgiving our sins and allowing us into heaven after we die. Most of us believe that if we do or say the right thing, we will be given a get-out-of-hell-free card. But what if salvation is something altogether different than that?
